Originally built as a private residence, the Hotel
Jade Y Oro has been beautifully restored and
comfortably furnished into a cozy and lavishly
decorated Spanish-style small hotel with ten rooms.
Built in 1941, the house contains its original
structure and design, with its high ceilings, inner
archways, chimney and original Portuguese tile
floors, and bright tropical flowers. The house was
redecorated by the daughter of its original owner,
Amalia Jimenez Volio, an artist who grew up in the
house, and also painted a colorful ecological mural
separating it from the property next door that makes
it easy to find. Breakfast includes a variety of
fruits, typical food, tea and coffee. Wine and
cheese are served in the evening. The hotel is in a
very quiet neighborhood, yet very close to downtown,
restaurants and cinemas. Tel: (506) 225-3752 or
