Hacienda Lodge Guachipelín, an old thirteen room ranch house
built over 110 years ago, is now transformed into a small
mountain lodge with attractions that will keep visitors
busy for days and that will remain in their memories for
a lifetime. The Hacienda is surrounded by a large garden
and in a tropical dry forest. From the lodge there is a
beautiful view of the Rincón de la Vieja volcano. Hacienda
Lodge Guachepelín is the headquarters for a reforestation
project, as well there is cattle raising and dairy farming.
The lodge operates tours to the three main craters of the
volcano, the Jilgueros Lagoon, Las Pailas, the Sulfur Springs,
the Hidden Waterfalls and more. All tours are made on horseback
with a native guide from the Hacienda to the jungle and
to the volcano. Hidden Waterfalls are four continuous falls
located in an area covered with wild grasses and volcanic
