La Ceiba Lodge is a very special place 100 m above Lake
Arenal level. You enjoy a fantastic scenic view. Only four
spacious rooms with private bath h/c each guarantees a certain
privacy. One big terrace, with hammocks, facing west gives
the opportunity to watch the spectacular sunsets and an
outstanding insect and bird life. Just in front of the small
lodge is one of the biggest, if not the biggest Ceiba tree
of the whole Guanacaste province; more than 500 years old,
60 m high and full of epiphytes like orchids and other.
These magic huge trees were sacred to the indigenous people;
referring to the legend they believe the big branches support
the heaven. LA CEIBA finca is surrounded by a horseshoe-like
strip of primeval jungle, with nice trails. Boats for sailing,
rowing and fishing can be rented. Sailing lessons and tours
on the lake are offered on a Hobie Cat. Mountain bikes can
be hired and horseback riding in a beautiful nature environment
is possible. La Ceiba Tree lodge is an ideal and peaceful
central station for day tours to the thermal springs of
Tabacon, rafting adventure and volcano and jungle hike.
Very exclusive dinners, as well as simple dishes, can be
provided on request. Middle class prices, first class lodging.
